7 months old, baby!

Hi everyone!

Here is an update on yours truly. 🙂  I am 7 months old and weigh 50 pounds.  I am the perfect sized dog, big enough to wrestle with and small enough to cuddle on the couch with.  Those days of making oopsies in the house are long gone but I do have a tendency of digging in the waste basket to shred paper.

I am still co-dependent but I can keep myself busy playing with all my toys.  I do this adorable baby whimper/happy cry when family comes home.  I usually bring a toy…ummm…shoe, to said family member as I whimper.  Sometimes I change it up and lay on my back while whimpering.  I like to keep them on their toes!

Everyone says I don’t have a mean bone in my body.  I’ve been called lover boy many times.  What can I say, I LOVE to give kisses.

However, I am a very good judge of character and will growl at nefarious people.  I am becoming a very good guard dog.  I protect the house from items blowing in the wind…oh, and unwanted visitors too. 😉

I am one of those weird dogs who loves crispy green beans (quickly blanched).  I will give paw to shake hands over and over again for a green bean!  I also love homemade dehydrated sweet potato chews…they just take forever to make though!  When I see someone peeling a banana, I expect to take the first bite and the last bite.  No joke.

Don’t let my favorite healthy treats fool you.  They are given to keep me svelte because I am a chowhound!!!!  I will eat anything…anywhere…anytime!!!!  If you leave food on the kitchen counter, consider it safe in my tummy.

My ghostwriter notified me that she will be out of town next week so I won’t post a blog for a while.  In the mean time, I’d like to share pics of a typical week of Luke’s adventures.  Until next time! ~ Luke

Play date with Harper, a labradoodle.  He’s a couple months older than me but we’re the same size.  We had so much fun chasing each other around the house and wrecking havoc!

Modeling my new waterproof winter coat.  It hasn’t snowed since I received this but it’s kept me dry on many walks in the rain.

Chillin’ in the backyard with the new tie out I received for Christmas.  Thanks Dr. K!

Nervously biting nails when RG3 injured his knee during the Redskins first playoff game in a million years.  Unfortunately, they lost the game. 😦

Leading the way during a hike in the woods.  I’m a great leader!  We haven’t gotten lost yet!

Giving Lita kisses every time I see her.

When will it snow?!

I’m still waiting for my first real snowfall.  We received a little dusting the day after Christmas and I had so much fun playing outside.  I spent most of my time eating the snow off the grass.  It’s like shaved ice! ~ Luke

What is this cold thing I’m stepping on?   Snow?   It’s fun to run around in the snow.

Hippity hoppity running around.

Snack break.  Snowflakes are delicious to lick!

The moment of truth finally arrived on December 26th.  After a month of sneaking under the Christmas tree and ripping up little holes to see what was hiding underneath wrapping paper, I was able to open up all my presents!

To be honest, I’m not sure what was more fun, ripping up paper or receiving presents.  Regardless, it was sooooo much fun!  The best part of all was having Lita over to help!!!!

A long rope to play tug a war!!!

Hide-a-squirrel and IQube.  Lita and I figured out how to take the squirrels out right away.  It was more challenging taking the balls out of the IQube.

Let me multi-task and do both at the same time!

Ooh! What’s that?!

My recycled toy!  I love how the plastic bottle makes crunchy noises when I bite the elephant.

I’ll share one of my new toys with Lita…for now!

What’s that jingley noise?! I LOVE cat ball!!!!!!!

Look at all these toys and yummy treats I received!

If you want the lobster then you have to chase me.  Come on Lita!

Christmas day redux

As promised, here’s part two of my Christmas day activities.  I left MOG’s and arrived to Lita’s house for another Christmas day celebration later in the afternoon.  I was so excited to see family but I was plum tuckered out.  I made my way around the house to say hello to each person, then I found quiet time to rest my eyes for a few minutes.

Everyone commented that I wasn’t my normal rambunctious self.  I even sat still for the group photo!  Just when I received my second wind of energy, it was time to go.  Unfortunately, Lita and I didn’t get a chance to play. 😦

Good thing nobody is eating in here.  Now I can take a cat nap.

I’m ready to play.  Are you ready to play?  What do you mean we have to go now?!  Aww shucks!

I arrived home early evening and all I wanted to do was call it a night.  Everyone said I was a baby.  They thought it was adorable that I was tired.  I slept on the chair when the family photo was taken.

I was really excited that I had permission to rip up the present that I’ve been coveting all month.  Unfortunately, ripping off the wrapper zapped all of my energy.  By the time I got to the bone, I was licking it with my eyes closed.  No joke!

Since I was a party pooper, we decided that I would open up my presents the next day.  Stay tuned for that blog!  Until next time. ~ Luke

T’was the night of Christmas and all through the house, every creature was stirring except for this mouse!

I’m soooo tired!  I can’t keep my eyes opened.

Let me lick this as I fall asleep.

Christmas day at MOG’s

Hi everyone!

Now that things are back to normal, I can blog in peace again.  We have a little catching up to do.  So let’s go retro for the next few blogs.

I’d like to share with you my Christmas adventure at MOG’s.  I was so excited Christmas morning, I felt like a kid in a candy store.  Thank goodness Santa already visited and put my presents under the tree because I was a force of nature (aka – TROUBLE!).  I wrecked havoc and got into all sorts of trouble Christmas morning.

12.25.12 002

You can tell by my tired face that I didn’t sleep at all on Christmas Eve.

12.25.12 003

Somebody make me a cup of coffee please!  I’ve got presents to open, cats to chase.

The farm was muddy from the Christmas Eve snow flurries that turned into rain.  That didn’t stop me from having fun outside in the field.  Even though mommy and poppa Josh had towels for me to clean my paws before I entered the house, somehow I bypassed that process.  I trekked soooo much mud into MOG’s house, mommy was mortified!!!

I was out of control!  They constantly gave me activities to busy myself and keep out of trouble.  This meant I got to eats tons and tons of treats!!! 😀

12.25.12 001

Trying to lick peanut butter out of this Kong toy kept me busy for oh…30 seconds.

12.25.12 005

This was my first taste of  pig ear.  Thanks Santa!  It was delicious!  The other dogs were so jealous.

12.25.12 004

Present time! I love shredding paper!!!!!!

I received so many gifts from MOG’s house!  Thanks everyone!  We had an early lunch before heading to a late lunch at Lita’s house.  By the time we returned home to open our family gifts, I was an absolute party pooper.  I was out like a light while everyone was opening their presents.

Stay tuned for my next blog, Christmas day redux.  I’ll give you the 411 on the rest of my Christmas story.  Until next time! ~ Luke
